Team Competition

Team competition provides an opportunity for five or more runners to compete as a group — in addition to the primary 8k competition. To encourage a fun time, all teams must be co-ed (That means boys and girls), and there will be an open and masters team category. There will be an award for the winning team in each category.

Team Categories

There will be two team categories:

Open Co-Ed (Runners may be any age)
Masters Co-Ed (All runners must be at least 40)

There is no limit to the number of runners on a team, however, there must be at least two men and two women. Only five members contribute to the team score (see below) and are eligible for the team prizes.

Team Scoring

The first two men and first two women on a team and the next fastest team finisher (male or female) will score. Team score will be the sum of the Net times of the five scoring team members. If a team has fewer than than five scoring finishers, the team will be disqualified.
Team Awards

The winning team in each category will receive a certificate — and priceless bragging rights. We don’t promise to announce team awards on race night — but we’ll try. Otherwise, teams will be notified by mail or carrier pigeon.

Team Registration

Each team member must complete a regular entry at the prevailing entry fee. In addition, the team captain must complete a Team Entry Form and pay the team entry fee ($10 before race day, $20 on race day). A single check for the combined individual entry fee and the $10 team entry fee is acceptable if you submit all team entries together.
